An immense palette of colours, depicting shimmering shifts of light, drawn from a catalogue of textiles that have been patiently collected, collated and coordinated.
These myriad textiles forge countless connections between their shades and sheens as well as their weave, their weight, their finesse, their drape: their quality.
Vibrations ranging from the daintiest to the deepest resonate as a singular textile score.

Description: Initiated during a research project proposed in 2018, the Dawn series explores the imperceptible shifts in colour at daybreak. Patiently collected fabrics in varying shades, materials and weaves recreate the first glimmers of light as night fades away.
Breaking free for the first time from the lines of force that lent structure to the composition of her works, Sabine Cibert now distributes textures and weaves across an entire, unchanging visual field, according to the magnitude of change in the range of colours.
The use of tiny quantities of rare fabrics adds to the singularity of each work in the Series.
