Description: blocks of 11 x 7 3-cm squares – 7 rows and 16 columns – 8,624 squares
While the circle design was originally a reaction to a collection of silk samples featuring ikat style prints, none of these silks have actually been used in the movement of this composition. They have been replaced with a set of muted colours and striking prints. The work taken as a whole achieves a blurred effect, reminiscent of the original ikat selection, but now scaled up in size
To join the three layers and add graphics and relief to the piece, spokes from three off-centre circles overlap and draw the onlooker’s gaze

Technique : 7,140 4-cm squares sewn together with a relief pattern, hand-quilted onto a cotton base with a silk core
Description: a relief assemblage of “pixels” undergoes metamorphosis, filling the space up. The onlooker’s eyes are attracted in turn by blurred and HD effects, discerning a discreet yet solid light
Holding the three layers together, the quilting traces the spokes of an off-centre circle, bringing graphics with relief and shifting the viewpoint
